This page is a showcase of all the raffle quilts I’ve designed and quilted. The ones for the Dryden Historical Society have their own page now and you can see them under that menu. All quilts were designed and quilted by me unless otherwise noted:
First up is “Chocolate Covered Cherries” which was donated to the Almont Music Boosters back in 2009. This was a king size quilt that generated only $500 due to poor marketing. Lesson learned – I’ve become more involved in the marketing of my raffle quilts!
Next up is an Autumn themed quilt I designed for the Evening Star Quilt Guild for 2012. It did fairly well in sales, but could have done better with more participation. This top was constructed by many and quilted by myself. “Autumn Oaks” was a generous size – 100″ square.
My favorite quilts have to be Baltimore Albums or Red and White quilts. The one below was designed for the Oakland County Quilt Guild and was truly spectacular in person! It was big – 100″ square!! I worked closely with Ruth McCormick (www.ruthmccormick.com), Carolyn Smith and Donna H. The redwork on it was all done by hand and the center piece was done by Donna. Ruth and I quilted it together – I did the stitch in the ditch over the course of two days! She did the computerized quilting over the next 3 days. Carolyn paper pieced those teeny tiny stars inside the feathered stars. It was a very successful group effort! “Feathered Stars”
“Hawaiian Stars” is another quilt for the Oakland County Quilt Guild. It’s the current raffle quilt for 2013/2014 and was designed by myself, Rita Morrow and Erena Rieflin (applique). It was quilted by Fern Myers. Tickets are still available. It’s approx. 92″ square.
